Abattoir Sale

Abattoir Sale

There have been some abattoir sales recently in Australia with some country abattoirs being put up for sale and others closed down completely. This has in part been due to the drought in Australia which has seen lots of farmers cull their stock because they have no feed for them. With the closure of some abattoir's throughout Australia there have been a lot of second hand abattoir machinery put on sale in the close down sales. With some abattoir machinery being extremely expensive it was a good chance for still functioning Abattoir's to pick up bargain second hand tools and machinery.

During this time many abattoirs have laid off staff due to the money constraints and some staff have had to look elsewhere for jobs within the industry.

It is also important that machines [second hand abattoir equipment] have all their parts with them such as safety guards.

There are many different tools and machines on offer when there is an abattoir sale such as saws. Some will be bought by companies that specialize in new and used abattoir products. These companies generally have websites in which you can see the products that are for sale. When purchasing second hand tools and machinery it is a good idea to evaluate whether or not it is more economically viable to buy it brand new as it should last a lot longer and may do the job better. It is also important that machines have all their parts with them such as safety guards. This is extremely important within the abattoir industry as health and safety checks are done regularly with inspectors. Failure to abide by the strict health and safety standards can warrant severe fines.

It is important to weigh up the value of purchasing second hand products especially in the abattoir industry as there are new products coming onto the market all the time that may make work faster and more efficient. This must be weighed up with the savings of purchasing second hand products that you may get at a fraction of the cost of a new machine. If you do find machinery and tools which are a lot cheaper it may be more viable but the older the machine the more likely it may be to break down. This can cause a company to lose lots of money, as the breakdown of some machinery will cause the production line to completely stop meaning the loss of thousands to the company. Also the cost of fixing and replacing faulty machines can be expensive.

A lot of the abattoir's which are closing down are in rural country areas, which makes a sale of the company harder to potential suitors. In some cases the whole town relies on the abattoir as it employs most of the town's workers. So when it closes down most of the locals are without work if the sale doesn't go through to a company that will keep the abattoir going.
